Do you ever have one of those days where you wonder why you’re trying?
Everybody has moments where they doubt themselves. Every author has wondered if it’s worth it. The trick is to figure out why you’re writing – what is it that keeps you going when the going gets tough?
I’m a storyteller. I’ve been telling tales since I was old enough to realize what a story was. That’s what keeps me going. Somebody has to keep telling the stories, passing the tales down to the next generation.
Some writers have characters who beg to be written about. Others have plots that must be put on paper. Everyone has a unique reason for writing, and the point is to stick with it.
Even when you think everything you’re writing is horrible, keep working, keep trying. There’s a reason you’re a writer.
